Each year, singer and actress Gerda Havertong organizes a Benefit Gala for her foundation Stichting Wiesje to raise funds and awareness for the disease dementia. This year’s gala was held in the historic Grand Hotel Amrath Kurhaus in The Hague. During the evening a special fundraising auction was held with artworks of National and International artists.

To help raising funds for this important cause, Style and Stories donated the beautiful Hoja de Oro necklace. This unique necklace handmade by Colombian designer Alfonso Mendoça was a succes and it got auctioned off for 400 euro!

Stichting Wiesje is a charity foundation founded by the Dutch/Surinamese singer and actress Gerda Haverton. She started this foundation at the time that her own mother was diagnosed with dementia. She realized that in Suriname, because of the lack in resources and expertise, it was not possible to provide adequate care and guidance to people with this desease.
