Ever since Colombian accessories designer Alfonso Mendoça was a child, he has developed an unmistakable talent for art and fashion. Hence, from the moment he launched his first collection in 2007, he has gained wide acclaim for his creations by fashion powerhouses such as VOGUE, Marie Claire, ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar.

Driven by the earth, its nature, his own ancestral roots and today’s modern world, Alfonso’s exclusive accessories are based on what he defines as the concept of ‘luxury ethnic fashion’. Each and every one of his creations is handmade of organic materials, whilst synthesizing ancient old artisanal techniques with modern-day designs.
Resultantly, his fashionable creations are beautifully made, one of a kind statement pieces that easily stand the test of time. More so, manually made by local artisans, every colorful necklace and every maxi bangle also bears a unique story.
It has always been extremely important for Alfonso to share his passion for art and fashion with the less privileged in his community. With the assistance of non-profit organization SENA, he also taken up the work of teaching to help refugees and other victims of the ongoing conflict in Colombia and give them a better future.
Thus, he shares his knowledge on how to design and produce handcrafts, which his students can then sell to earn a living. Alfonso: “My heart fills me with emotion every time I’m teaching my students how to paint and create beautiful pieces of art. With such resilient souls, I have strong faith and I truly believe that art can help fight poverty in our country”.
